Statement (in Turkish with English translation) of provisional village guard Fevzi Gökçen that he, guard Ömer Güngör, informant Mesat Mehmetoğlu, and a Special Gendarme Sergeant whose name he did not know went to the scene of the incident to Şerif Avşar. Gökçen claims he did not know that they were intending to kill Şerif Avşar and would not have gone with them had he known they were going to do so, as he had nothing personal against Avşar and had nothing to gain from his killing.
