Transcripts of an 1871 letter from Alexander McGraw in Edinburgh to his brother Virgil McGraw in Detroit. Alexander McGraw was the son of an Irishman from near Newry, County Down. This letter recounts his visit to his father's boyhood home. Also included are land valuation and census data pertaining to the McGraws in Down.
