Scope and content
Transcript and reproduction of a letter sent from William Luttrell in Oustic, Ontario, Canada to his cousin, George Greenham in 1879. He reports that his father has passed and all of the children, including William, are now married and the youngest brother, Isaac, has left with his family for Manitoba. William is now 38 and has been married 8 1/2 years with two children. He has been teaching for 21 years in the same school and making $414 (£85) a year. The donor of the letter writes that George Greenham was her grandfather and lived in County Galway, possibly in Tuam, at the time. Also included are a typed transcript and photocopy of the donor letter, and a photocopy of the original Luttrell letter.
