Scope and content
Typescript draft of 'What Ever You Say, Say Nothing' bearing the title 'May They All Climb Trees: Change In Our Time' beginning 'There were two sectarian States in place, North and South, inward looking and ostensibly secure, secretly content with one another despite public claims and utterances to the contrary.' Contains handwritten amendments, paginated pp 1- 19. Elements of the style and phraseology suggest that this article may have been adapted for an oral address, for example 'You may have noticed that I haven't referred to Northern Ireland, other than in passing, and this is deliberate. As I said in the beginning, when I was young there were two sectarian states in place, North and South....' Reverse side contains typescript fragments from Amongst Women .
