Photocopy of Armstrong, Christopher (1929), 'A Typical Example of Immigration into Upper Canada in 1819,' Papers and Records of the Ontario Historical Society 25: pp. 5-11. The article tells of the emigration voyage of Robert Armstrong of Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, a landlord who emigrated with his wife and family of nine children to Upper Canada in 1819 after tenants became unable to pay rents.
Included at the end of the folder is Kerby A. Miller's abstract of an unrelated 1860 letter written by Michael J. Adams in Virginia to the Cork Examiner advising Irish not to come to America and especially not to work on the railways.
