Photocopy of Gurley, Rev. L..B. (1850). Memoir of Rev. William Gurley, Late of Milan, Ohio, A Local Minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church: Including A Sketch of the Irish Insurrection and Martyrs of 1798 (Cincinnati: R.P. Thompson). The book is a biography (written by his son) of Rev. William Gurley (1757-1848), a native of Wexford who was active with the Society of United Irishmen during the 1798 Irish Rebellion. He emigrated with his family to Ohio in 1811, where he was ordained as a minister. Much of the memoir details Gurley's experiences during the Rebellion and the War of 1812.
