Materials pertaining to a proposed case (referred to internally within the Kurdish Litigation Project as Case 23) to be filed by Remziye Gökdere against the Republic of Turkey regarding the murder of her husband, teacher Sirin Gökdere, on 14 September 1992. State involvement was suspected as Sirin Gökdere was an active member of Eğit-Sen, the teachers’ union. Materials in the file include: a translated version of Remziye Gökdere’s petition regarding her husband’s murder: a translation of a statement from Remziye Gökdere including documentation of her husband’s union membership; and a letter from Kevin Boyle to Victoria Medd of the Kurdistan Human Rights Project listing various case points which needed to be researched. The case was not pursued within the Kurdish Litigation Project past this point.
