Scope and content
Materials pertaining to the case filed by Ramazan Beyaz on 4 June 1994 against the Republic of Turkey with the European Commission of Human Rights (application number 23530/94, referred to internally within the Kurdish Litigation Project as Case 83 and assigned to Kevin Boyle as lead) regarding the alleged destruction of his house and possessions by security forces on 10 August 1993 during the razing of the village of Cumar in Lice District, Diyarbakır Province. On 15 October 1997, the case was struck by the Commission from its list of cases due to the inability of the applicant’s representatives to establish any contact with Beyaz (‘The Commission finds that, in these circumstances, the applicant has failed to keep his representatives informed of his whereabouts and must, therefore, be considered to have lost interest in pursuing his application to the Commission’).
