It includes correspondence relating to the appointment of Sister M Bernard Ryan as Matron at the Hospital in 1900 and a dispute within the Medical Staff in relation to the appointment. Typescript notes on tests for products of the digestive system (c1900). Joseph Patrick Pye (1849 - 1920) was educated at Queen's College Galway and London and Paris. He qualified LRCS (Edinburgh) in 1870 and took MDMCh (Queen's University of Ireland in 1871 and was later honoured DSc of his University. Pye was appointed Professor of Anatomy and Physiology at Queen's College, Galway in 1877 and remained in this position until his death in 1920. He was also Honorary Surgeon to the Galway Hospital. Also correspondence in relation to Medical Council of Saorstat Eireann grants (1938).
