File of letters from Frank C. Newman, Berkeley School of Law, California to Boyle and others and concerning human rights issues in Greece and also elsewhere internationally. Letters include from Newman to His Excellency Kurt Waldheim, Secretary General of the United Nations, New York, concerning "Human Rights in Greece and gross violations of human rights under the so-called New Regime which seized power in Greece in Nov 1973. Reasons and instances for these concerns are outlined by Newman. Further documents include the remarks of Newman addressed to the UN Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities on behalf of the International Student Movement for the UN and Amnesty International. Further letters and comments also make reference to Greece and other international issues.

Included are a job advertisement for the National Gallery of Ireland which requires oral and written knowledge of the Irish language, a piece on the Irish Association for Cultural, Economic and Social Relations, a statement from Cumann na Sagart, reports on comments made by Pádraig Faulkner the Fianna Fáil Minister for Education regarding the Leaving Certificate and Irish, demands by Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge to establish a section of the Department of Education for the formulation and implementation of a positive policy on the restoration of the Irish language, reports on the publication of the Dichter Report, a proposal for a Government order requiring all imported ceramics to be stamped in both Irish and English, and a report issued by Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge on the progress achieved since the publication of the Government's White Paper four years previously.

Final decision of the Commission (European Commission of Human Rights) as to the admissibility of applications made by the Government of Ireland against the Government of the United Kingdom for incidents of breach of human rights of individuals detained under the practice and policy of Internment Without Trial which was active in Northern Ireland from August 1971 and the interrogation techniques used by police and army members in Northern Ireland.
