Letters include from Newman to His Excellency Kurt Waldheim, Secretary General of the United Nations, New York, concerning "Human Rights in Greece and gross violations of human rights under the so-called New Regime which seized power in Greece in Nov 1973. Reasons and instances for these concerns are outlined by Newman. Further documents include the remarks of Newman addressed to the UN Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities on behalf of the International Student Movement for the UN and Amnesty International. Further letters and comments also make reference to Greece and other international issues.

Final decision of the Commission (European Commission of Human Rights) as to the admissibility of applications made by the Government of Ireland against the Government of the United Kingdom for incidents of breach of human rights of individuals detained under the practice and policy of Internment Without Trial which was active in Northern Ireland from August 1971 and the interrogation techniques used by police and army members in Northern Ireland.
