Refers to the Gallup Poll the previous year and a survey reported in NUSIGHT magazine, and argues a choice must be made between country and language. Jobs, money, and religion are considered more important, and differences in standards of education need more attention.

In his letter he questions the findings of Dr. MacNamara. A copy of Christopher Morris's response dated the 18th of March argues that the quality of children's education is at stake, which he believes is more important than a second language.
