Druid - The Repertory Theatre of Galway: The Need. Printed pamphlet describing the challenges of running Druid Theatre Company, including finance and general administration. "Our aim is the presentation of theatrical experiences of the highest quality of which we are capable and the provision of education in and through theatre for the children of Galway." Document outlines a financial subscription programme to contribute to Druid Theatre Company. Also details other attempts to set up and maintain a professional theatre company in Galway and makes reference to Frank Bailey, the Taibhdhearc theatre, the Irish National Theatre and others. It questions why the 'cultured people of Galway won't go to see a home grown group' such as Druid. "Or is it just that Galway audiences are used to the tasteless pap fed from the box office every night?" Reprint from the Tuam Herald. One item.

Other typescript documents include 'Druid History' and 'Druid on Tour' which provides a diary-like account by unnamed author of a tour of Ireland by Druid Theatre Company. Makes reference to Marie Mullen, Garry Hynes, Ray McBride and venues like Lisdoonvarna. Reference is made to tour of "The Wood of the Whispering" by M.J. Molloy. Likely from late 1970's to early 1980's.
