A note attached is written by Kevin Boyle's wife, Joan, who writes, . . ."Feeling it would be wonderful to return to Ireland, he [Kevin] applied, was shortlisted and interviewed . . . he didn't get the job but was told it was a close run. I think he was duly relieved!"
