Typescript letter from Martin Ennals, Secretary General of Amnesty International, writing to Boyle ahead of 'Amnesty International undertaking a mission to Northern Ireland to investigate allegations of maltreatment of persons detained for questioning by the police or army and to study the operation of the emergency legislation' and asks Boyle if he would meet and brief the delegates. Boyle writes his reply on this letter and adds "I will of course co-operate in any way that I can when your delegates arrive" and adds further comment on the functioning and structure of Diplock Courts in Northern Ireland.

Files relating to the case of David Norris Vs. The Attorney General and Norris' challenge against the laws in Ireland which indicated that homosexual acts were criminal offences. Norris was represented by Mary Robinson, SC. The case was heard at the High Court on 10th October 1980 and the Supreme Court, 22April 1983.
