Includes letters from Macnaughton Lowe Representation Ltd. to Jerome Hynes concerning negotiations to produce "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams. The letters detail the granting of license, extension on option but subsequent notice of non-production by Druid. (Jul 1986 - Sep 1987) Letters between Hynes Michael Imison Playwrights Ltd. concerning rights to produce "A Streetcar Named Desire", mentioning rights in Ireland and UK should be no problem, the literary estate are cautious about West End option rights to the play. (Jul 1986) Letters between Hynes and Samuel French Ltd, concerning application for production rights for "A Streetcar Named Desire". (Jul 1984 - Jul 1985) Letter of permission from W.H. Allen & Co. to Druid to use extracts from Tennessee Williams' 'Memoirs'.

              File of letters between Garry Hynes and playwright Edward Bond and also between Jane Daly of Druid and staff of Margaret Ramsay Ltd. play agents, concerning discussions on rights to produce Bond's play, "Saved". Letter from Edward Bond to Garry Hines (sic) Hynes, stating he "is really happy the play is being done in Ireland" and outlines his ideas on the differences between a good English writer and a bad English writer, being an Irish soul, which he lays claim to. Also attaches a copy of letter to another adopter and translator of his work, offering comments on the process of that work, also a copy of an article on "the Reception and Adaptation in Germany of Edward Bond's "Saved""; Letter from Maureen Hughes, Artistic Administrator, Druid, to Margaret Ramsay Ltd., London, seeking permission to adapt and translate into "béarlachás - a peculiar corruption of Irish (Gaelic) and English, spoken in areas of the country where Irish rather than English is the spoken language." Antoine Ó Flatharta would translate the play and Garry Hynes would direct. (1 Mar 1989); Letter from Sally Emmett of Margaret Ramsay's, saying Bond is delighted to grant permission for a translation (16 Mar 1989); Copy of bank draft for IR£500.00 is respect of the play rights (1 Nov 1989)
