Photocopy of typescript paper by G.H. Boehringer, Department of Social Studies, Queen's University, Belfast, entitled 'Beyond Hunt: a police policy for Northern Ireland of the future - a paper for discussion'. Reviewing development of RUC, and commenting on the Hunt report as a 'stop-gap measure' (p.5); proposing a 'radical re-organization' of the police based on decentralization, re-assignment of work to other agencies, and re-orientation towards 'a positive developmental role in society' - illustrating structure proposed on table 2 (p.16). With two appendices, 1) from report by the 1971 Chief Inspector of Constabulary 2) comments on the 1969-Boyes report. Paper also bears some handwritten notes on demographics of the four Ulster counties not in the UK (p.13). (With a caption by [Éamonn Downey] suggesting a date before Secretary of State Roy Mason's tenure of office.)
