Photocopy of typescript letter from 'June' [Brendan Duddy] to 'a chara' [Martin McGuinness]. Praising strength and integrity of actions by Republican movement since the hungerstrikes. Warning against holding on to arms out of principle, when the Good Friday Agreement should spell the end of the war, and enable them to walk away from the trap that decommissioning holds. (With a caption by Éamonn Downey referring to original document which also included a number of handwritten drafts, and stating the markings on this document copy those in the original. See also POL35/568 when this was copied into a telefax on 5 September 1999.)
