Letter from Peter Ormsby, son, to Thomas Ormsby of Ballinamore, Co. Mayo. From Enniskillen he has received an answer to his "memorial for leave of absence ... that in consequence of the embodying of the militia it will be necessary for the medical staff to visit the different counties in their district, to approve of the men raised ... it could not be granted at present ... I feel much better than when I wrote last ..." All his family are well "except our youngest little boy Anthony, who is still a delicate child ..." Includes a P.S. the end of which is missing "Tell John I intend starting for Londonderry, Strabane and Lifford on the 4th of August and if he will come here before that day, we will be glad to see him ..."
