Letter from Peter Ormsby, son, to Thomas Ormsby of Ballinamore, Co. Mayo. From Dublin, in which he mentions "his dearest wife and little girls" but largely concerning his purchase of a carriage "... nothing could increase my gratitude to you and my dearest mother for the repeated acts of generosity I have so amply experienced from you, I ... was advised by all means to purchase a covered carriage in preference to any other ... I find it very difficult to get a standing for the carriage at Enniskillen, I am just leaving Dublin, the carriage I have bespoke won't be ready until February, I hope to be able to visit my dearest mother long before that time". From this letter on he signs himself with S[taff] S[urgeon] after.
