Transcript and reproduction of a 20 October 1853 letter sent by Peter Byrne in Carbondale, Pennyslvania to United States congressman Hendrick B. Wright in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Among many statements, Byrne states his opposition to Thomas F. Meagher and Michael Doheny for slandering the Catholic Church but praises William Smith OBbrien and John Mitchel.
