The paper references the encyclical issued 31 December 1929 by Pope Pius XI, 'Divini illius Magistri' ('That Divine Teacher'), on Christian education. O'Sullivan writes that 'School is the preparation for life and correct living and since religion is an integral part thereof a godless school and godless education do not fulfil the necessary requirements. The fall short of the essential in so far as they develop but one side of man and leave the other and more important – the spiritual – completely unattended' (21 March 1945, 2pp);
-Paper, 'The Use and Misuse of Films' by J.O. Barry Walsh, Secretary, Muintir na Tíre. Walsh advocates for a native Irish film industry 'inspired with the ideals of Catholic Action' and for people 'to reject with their intelligence and will all that is served up a paganism or vice no matter even if it is coated with a harmful but pleasant gilt.' He then details the work over the past two years of Muintir na Tíre's Co-Operative Film Society, which has toured Ireland and shown films approved by the organisation to an average of 1,200 people per week.
