Pages 3 and 4 of the Irish Press, 20 December 1941. The pages were likely clipped to keep two related articles.
The first article, 'Archbishop Censures "Craze For Pleasure,"' is at the top right of page 3. The article summarises the address of Joseph Walsh, Archbishop of Tuam, at St. Jarlath's College, Tuam, which speaks of 'the rise of a generation of young people filled with an undue love of pleasure and having their judgment warped by wrong standards.'
Underneath that article is another 'Nothing Wrong With Education – Most Rev. Dr. Fogarty', presumably responding to the letter of Edward McNulty (see P134/12/1/1/5/12). Bishop Fogarty states that the education system is not wrong but 'the poisoned atmosphere outside... ...He wished that somebody would turn a hose on Ireland and wash all the poison and the passion for pleasure out of it.'
