Original handwritten memorandum by Éamonn Downey entitled 'General- M.O. and 1990/1991'. Memorandum from notes made in interviewing Duddy about initiatives leading up to the 1993 period, but dealing with the year from Easter 1990 to June 1991. With commentary particularly on Michael Oatley's meeting with McGuinness, his retirement, instatement of 'Fred' by June 1991 and McGuinness's approval of the re-opening of communication. Downey has used the Sinn Féin pamphlet Setting the record straight (1994) to verify certain details.
