Scope and content

Original handwritten letter from M[ichael Oatley], Pretoria (postmark Kingston upon Thames 30 March), to Brendan Duddy. Reference to their recent long-distance call where Oatley did not feel it appropriate to talk much. Some domestic matters concerning 'P' and Eve. Supplying contact details for himself in Johannesburg and Zimbabwe. Also informing him that 'there can't possibly be any service of the pipeline at the mainland end ... while the weather looks so black', but assuring him again that while this renders things difficult it ought not to affect Duddy's personal position. NOTE: this document is partly restricted and a reprographic copy will be available for consultation.
