Original handwritten and typed transcript of a memorandum by [Brendan Duddy] for [Sinn Féin], analysing the current situation and highlighting three alternative positions that could be taken, discussing each, and offering 'Notes' in an appendix. Positions are 1) continue without cease-fire, limited military action and propaganda; 2) showing the British government up for allowing the process to stall; 3) to recommence a full military campaign. (Handwritten [drafts] very close to the slightly more concise typed version; they are in the hands of Brendan Duddy's sons-in-law. Caption by Downey points out that Duddy himself favoured position 2.)
