Maurice Hayes served as Ombudsman for Northern Ireland from 1987 to 1991. He was appointed to two offices, the Northern Ireland Parliamentary Commission for Administration and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints. From 1991 to 1993 he served as Local Authority Boundary Commissioner for Northern Ireland.
