Casey was commissioned to report on the areas to be affected by upgrading of the N5 road through County Roscommon. The report is based on a comprehensive desk and field study complemented by aerial reconnaissance. Casey notes that 2 known monuments (a bridge at Scramoge and a previously-bisected ringfort) will be impacted by the proposed scheme) and also notes that 5 known monuments and 6 previously unrecognised features will require test excavations.
