Report authored by Markus Casey on the commission of the National Roads Authority and Roscommon County Council. Casey was commissioned to report on the areas of the proposed corridors for a by-pass of the town of Ballaghaderreen. The report is based on a comprehensive desk study complemented by aerial reconnaissance. Casey identifies 114 sites of archaeological significance in the study area and notes that their distribution is such that a corridor may be selected with little adverse effect on the cultural heritage of the area. Includes the bound report (103pp) and the summary (8pp). See P164/1/1/20 for the subsequent report published in September 2002.
