Report authored by Markus Casey on the commission of the Sligo County Council Regional Design Office. Casey was commissioned to report on the areas of the proposed corridors for a new alignment of the N4 road between Cloonamahon (Cloonamahan) and Castlebaldwin. The report is based on a comprehensive desk study complemented by aerial reconnaissance. Casey identifies 99 sites of archaeological significance in the study area and notes that their distribution is such that a corridor may be selected with little adverse effect on the cultural heritage of the area.
