Materials regarding a letter written by Irish emigrant Moses Paul in Petersburg, Virginia to John Graham of Magherafelt, County Derry, 29 December 1840, in which the author discusses his adaptation to American life and his 'obliged' use of slave labour. Paul emigrated from either the Magherafelt area or from Portadown to the United States in 1839; he died in Petersburg in 1849.
