Materials pertaining to the memoir of Michael Geary. Geary was born in Kilrush, County Clare in 1843 and emigrated in 1857, first to Mobile Bay, eventually settling in Montana in 1864. He died in Helena, Montana in 1938 at the age of 94. Geary was a Montana pioneer and worked in mining and prospecting, and purchased a ranch which he worked in the Helena valley in 1879. The series contains: copies of information provided by relatives of Michael Geary; copies of newspaper clippings; photocopies of family photos; and the typed transcript of a letter to Geary from his cousin, Thomas Kelly, in Australia in 1866.
