Scope and content

Scanned copy of The Felon's Track: A Narrative of '48. Embracing the Leading Events in the Irish Struggle from the Year 1843 to the Close of 1848. Second Edition. New York: Farrell and Son, 1867.
Michael Doheny was born near Fethard in County Tipperary in 1805 and was a member of the Young Ireland movement, a co-founder of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, as well as a lawyer and writer. He was involved in a number of important Irish Republican movements and actions, before and after emigrating to New York. The Felon's Track recounts the tumultuous events of the Irish nationalist movement from 1843 to 1848, also casting a critical eye on the policies and ideals of Daniel O'Connell, with whom Doheny had worked before they severed ties.
