Scope and content

Typescript message [from Sinn Féin to the British government] of 8 November and typescript covering letter copying its contents sent by [Brendan Duddy] on 19 November. Stating that the communication of 2 November sprung solely from the initiative of 'BD' 'Mr. Brown' and was not authorised by them; pointing to the Hume/Adams process as a promising 'basis for peace', something the IRA is also positive about. (With a caption by [Éamonn Downey], referring to the previously documented typeface used by the Republican movement.)
