He notes the differences between the Provisional IRA and the Official IRA, as well as the operation of loyalist groups. It notes the Roman Catholic hierarchy’s opposition to these groups, and states that it is appropriate to ask those politicians who ask for an end to internment to provide an alternative. It also states that the policing and politics cannot be separate.
