Scope and content

Microfilm copy of the Matteson family papers documenting emigration from Ireland to the United States between 1848 and 1851, plus Kerby A. Miller's catalogue of the papers and his transcript of a 27 September 1848 letter from David Keane in Boston to Isaiah Matteson in Vermont. Many of the papers are notices from Tapscott's Emigration and Foreign Exchange Office regaring transatlantic voyage fares and confirming to Isaiah Matteson the emigration of various Irish emigrants for whom he paid passage.
