Correspondence between Canon Hayes and Martin Quigley Jnr, publisher and editor of the Motion Picture Herald, New York also noted for serving as a United States spy in Ireland during World War II. Includes:
-Letter to Canon Hayes from Quigley forwarding quotes from 'one of the pioneer motion picture theatre operators... ...one of the best known citizens of New Orleans.' The subject of the letter had just read 'Great Gaels' and wrote to Quigley that the American south needs a plan and a man like Canon Hayes and his work in Ireland. Written on the back of the letter is Canon Hayes' handwritten draft of his response (28 September 1956, 2pp).
-Typed draft of Canon Hayes' response to Quigley, expressing his pleasure at the letter and asking Quigley to help Muintir na Tíre by contacting Monsignor Temple in New Rochelle, New York (30 September 1956, 1p).
