Series of typescript reports and documents from Macnas outlining their plans, policies and strategies for community arts projects. Documents include 'Macnas Community Arts Policy: A Discussion Document'; Macnas Community: Work so far, plans for the future': Macalla report by Macnas 1995; Macnas Community Projects - Barnet College Sept 1997; 'Community Update - Macalla Oct 1995 - Jul 1996'; 'Community Programme 1996'. Also assorted reports, generally 1995 - 1996, from community arts projects by Macnas. Also includes a certificate of commendation received by Macnas by Fás West Region Community Initiative Awards, 1993.
File 2 includes documents entitled Community Initiative Awards 1995, which Macnas applied to; notes from talks at "Community Arts Conferences Feb 1994 - "What is Community Arts?"; "Proposal for an Initiative on Employment and Development of Human Resources"; Overview, Schedule and Discussion document from County Galway Community Arts Network Conference on development of community arts in western counties, held at University College Galway (NUI Galway), Feb [1995].
Files relating to the Mac Eolas programme developed by Macnas. Mac Eolas was a subsidiary company devised by Macnas and which was dedicated to community arts initiatives.
File includes printed black and white and also colour photographs taken at Mac Eolas events at various schools. Those pictured include President of Ireland, Mary Robinson. Also press cuttings of coverage of the establishment of Mac Eolas and its objectives Also includes manuscript shorthand wire-bound notepad, with manuscripts relating to work of Macnas, planning of events, meeting notes, reminders etc. Possibly relates to general Macnas rather than just Mac Eolas. Also blank template participating certificate from the Macnas programme with details of tasks and activities.

File of manuscript and typescript letters between Kate O'Brien and Mary O'Malley. Includes discussion about O'Brien contributing works for publication to Threshold journal, published by O'Malley. "A Bus From Tivoli" was published in 1957. Further pieces for publication are discussed. Also discussed is O'Brien staying with the O'Malleys in Belfast as she is engaged for speaking events with the Alpha club and P.E.N.; she wished she had seen the recent production of The Voice of Shem, a stage-version of Joyce’s Finnegans Wake, which Mary Manning adapted for the stage and which produced at the Lyric Theatre in 1958; sending congratulations to O'Malley on receiving an honorary degree from Queen's University Belfast and general warm regards between both parties. O'Brien writes from London and Roundstone, Co. Galway.

Includes handwritten text of speech given by Liam Miller at the opening of Irish Handcrafts centre at the Lyric, dated 'Belfast 21 June 1962.
Production notebook relating to production and development of The Game by Macnas, which was staged as part of the 1987 Connacht (Gaelic) Football Final. A4 hardback bound notebook, with manuscript notes and drawings of scenarios and scenes of the production, and also drawings of the proposed set/staging. Notebook is in the name of Paraic Breathnach. File 3 includes colour and black and white original and photocopy drawings of characters and costumes, which are thought to be from Tír Faoi Thonn.
Letters from Padraic Breathnach, on behalf of the members of the newly formed Macnas community arts group, writing to parents of children in local St. Nicholas' School, regarding participation in new year celebration events. File also includes details of the events which would mark 'hunting the wren' and also manuscript notes and outline on Ma Day events being developed by Macnas.
