              Two letters to Robinson from Ríonach Ní Ógáin of the Department of Irish Folklore at UCD. The first encloses a list of references to Synge in the Department's collections, with an explanation of the International Classification System of Folktales. She encloses photocopies of 2 articles:
              'The Types of the Folktale, A Classification and Bibliography' by Antti Aarne, translated by Stith Thompson (1973);
              'The Types of the Irish Folktale' by Seán Ó Súilleabháin and Reidar Th. Christiansen (1967).

              The 2nd letter encloses a photocopy of 'Láirín Riocaird Mhóir', a verse collected by Seán Ó Conaill from Pádraig Ó Ceallaigh, Baile an Phoill c. 1932.

              File containing handwritten and typed verses and lyrics from various sources.

              Handwritten poem (transcribed by Mr Fleming and given to the Robinsons c1972). The transcription includes an introduction from J O'Neill who heard the poem in the late 1890's from a 'struggling young mason in Aran', who wrote it after listening to fairy stories told by seanachaís on a winter night. The mason sadly died in his 20's. The poem is in English, 3pp;

              Handwritten letter to Robinson from Antoine Powell in Irish including words to three songs composed in Aran between 1880 and 1910. (29 Sep 1980) 2pp;

              Typed letters to Robinson from Éamon [Ó Tuathail] enclosing lines from a ballad on an Dola Ard, a copy of Amhrán Shéamuis Uí Chonchúir, and notes on the Village of Cill Rónáin based on the 1821 Census. A later letter from Bríd encloses a remembrance card after the passing of Éamon. (19 Jun-28 Nov 1993) 17pp;

              Handwritten letter to Robinson from Tomás [ ] from the Royal Irish Academy on the origin of the word 'pampúta / pampootie' and its use on the Aran Islands, encloses a photocopied page from an article written by T S Ó Máille. Letter and photocopy are in Irish. (11 Feb 1991) 2pp;

              Four letters with enclosures to Robinson from Diarmuid [Breathnach], on the writer's plans for a 4th and 5th volume of 'Beathaisnéis', to include an English language version. The first two letters are in English, and were posted together (9-10 Mar 1994). These letters enclose a draft Irish language biography of Micheál Ó Maoláin intended for publication in 'Beathaisnéis'. A subsequent letter to Robinson from Breathnach gives more information on Ó Maoláin, and also mentions Maggie Dirrane. Enclosed with the letter is an Irish language biography of David O'Callaghan, a school teacher on Inis Meáin between 1880 and 1884 who got into trouble for not punishing his pupils for speaking Irish.               Photocopied notes from an Irish Language interview with Pádraig Ó hEithir, father of Breandáin Ó hEithir. Talks about GAA, the Civil War, how he became involved in teaching on the Aran Islands, and includes many stories from his life. The interview was recorded in Ennis in 1993, and Robinson received the notes from Liam Mac an Iomaire in Jul 1994.

              Copied correspondence between John Waddell and Bernard Meehan, the Keeper of Manuscripts at Trinity College Dublin in which Waddell offers to donate photographs taken by J M Synge following a bomb explosion in the dining room of the Parish Priest on Inishmore / Inis Mór. The letter includes an outline of the story, photocopies and 1 photographic print showing the destruction. Also in this file are two letters, transcribed from originals written by the Reverend Alexander Hamilton Synge to Edward [ ] in 1851.
