Included are some information about the Graham estate, which spread into Letterfrack. Descriptions are provided of the basket industry, St. Joseph's Industrial School for Roman Catholic Boys, Bulóg, Connemara West Centre, Diamond Lodge, the Community Crafts Shop Centre and shop, Connemara National Park, Diamond Hill, Bun a Bacaí, Court Tomb, The Waterfall, The Bard's Den, and the Courthouse. An unidentified local park worker, and Mr Mangan of Currywongaun are credited with providing some of the local information.

              File includes manuscript letters and postcards from Brian Friel to Joe Vaněk, including text of letter for inclusion within Vaněk's 'Theatrescapes' book as well as comments direct to Vaněk from Friel. Also includes colour photographs of Friel and Vaněk together and of images taken at various locations around Donegal. Correspondence also include comments by Friel on elements of stage design of his plays by Vaněk, including for Molly Sweeney and for Dancing at Lughnasa.

              File also includes separate single typed letter signed by theatre director Peter Hall sent to Joe Vaněk, stating he admired Vaněk's design work on Friel's plays and hopes to meet with Vaněk soon.

Includes later email (2009) from Whelan to Madeline McGahern (printed copy sent by post) asking for advice on publication of some items from the letters and poems.
