"Letter from A T Lucas, Árd-Mhúsaem na hÉireann, Sráid Chill Dara, Baile Átha Cliath 2, to Ciarán Bairéad, Beechmount House, Turloughmore, County Galway, stating that he has been in contact with the Lallys and that he will deal with their requests. He comments on the man he referred to in the letter as ""wildly enthusiastic"" about antiquities. He is worried that he will try to set up a local museum in Tuam ""a project which we view with horror since there is absolutely no doubt whatever that there is no future at all for local museums in this country"". He states that they have quite a number of clay pipe moulds already, and would treat the man with a ""very guarded approach"". He thanks him for all the other material, particular the sundial and bogwood pegs. He also thanks him for the butterprint, stating that it was a local hand-made specimen without doubt."

Letter from A T Lucas, Árd-Mhúsaem na hÉireann, Sráid Chill Dara, Baile Átha Cliath 2, to Ciarán Bairéad, Beechmount House, Turloughmore, County Galway, reassuring him that £5 does not seem exorbitant for the sundial as it has a gnomon on it, but stating that he will have to reserve final judgement until he sees it. He describes the coin he sent as a bronze penny token struck by the Parys mining company in 1788 in Anglesea, commenting that it is of no monetary value.
