File of correspondence between Tim Robinson and Fr Ryan, Parish Priest at Sixmilebridge. Robinson is enquiring about about a number of earthworks around Lisdoonvarna that he believes to be barrows rather than forts, a subject Fr Ryan recently gave a paper on. Fr Ryan responds arranging to meet Robinson on the Aran Islands. In a subsequent letter, Fr Ryan describes the location of a cave that served as a hiding place for priests and their vestments, and encloses a map of the Burren on which he has marked locations of fulachta fiadh.
