He comments that he will do his best for Seosamh Mac Eoin and that he was right to encourage him. He outlines the numbers of visitors coming to him and wonders when he will get a chance to finish the Clare book.

He complains that the current issue of Béaloideas caused him a lot of trouble. He comments that the tale Cailleach Bhéarnach comes from Hyde's Scéal Gaedhealach, and comments that this version is of value because of its linguistic context. He says that he would like to meet up with him before he goes to the Faroes, ""as my colleagues seem to have no problems - literary, linguistic, folkloristic, at any rate"". "

He describes his visit to the Faroese Academy to help them set up ""an archive of the oral traditions of the Faroes"". He states that he has spoke with Leo to get him a new recorder, and agrees that the sooner this is done the better. He states that he will be going to Galway soon to discuss matters there. He also informs Ciarán about the HEA decision to place the Commission in Belfield, in spite of the opinion of Dr Eric Mac Fhinn that it should go to UCG. "
