"Letter from Colbert Kearney, Riverstown, Cork to Eugene Watters, giving him the schedule for his set of lectures at UCC. He has sent the Brendan Behan manuscript to Gill & MacMillan for review, and gives news of some fiction he is writing. He read New Passages and thought ""Hacketstown"" was very good. He is also going to the Kerry Gaeltacht for a seminar, not out of any interest in Irish according to himself, but purely for love of the place."

"Letter from Colbert Kearney, Riverstown, Cork to Eugene Watters, hoping he is well. He has gleaned something of the controversy surrounding the ""Feasta"" review of ""Lig sinn i gCathu"". He discusses his own attempts at a novel, he has learned a lot about Shakespeare, linking it into Haydon's painting. He also comments on his re-reading of ""Weekend"". He is also enjoying Anthony Cronin's book ""Dead as Doornails""."
