Letters relating to a proposal to appoint John Wilson Lynch as Lieutenant for Co. Clare, a proposal he declined due to his age, health, and financial circumstances. All copy reply letters written by Fanny Wilson Lynch on her husband's behalf. Many of the letters are marked 'private'. Some letters are from Sir Heffernan F Considine who was a trustee of the Redington Estates [see LE6/D/264]. (Sir Heffernan F Considine was married to Emily Talbot, half sister of Anne Eliza Talbot, John Wilson Lynch's mother-in-law). Sir Michael O'Loughlin Bart was Lieutenant of Clare in 1911.
