Scope and content
A series of letters to Robert J. ffrench from Brabazon Browne which discuss a wide range of subjects such as rents; annuities; the sale of parts of Robert J. ffrench's estates; the drawing of bills; the probate of Charles, 2nd Lord Clanmorris' will; an ejectment of Kilroe; the lease of Cargin and the Borough of Tuam compensation money. Legal cases involve the Hennessys; Beytagh and Cannon, the Blakes of Ballinafad, County Mayo; the Lynches and Stephen Blake. There are many references to Mr Mahen, D'Arcy, Mr. Creagh, Mr White and Mr Guinness. B Browne often complains of Robert J ffrench's treatment of him, by not fulfilling his financial obligations. Until January 1830 B. Browne addressed Robert J ffrench as 'Dear Sir' but the letters dated 1830 - 1 are written to 'Dear ffrench'. There are some gaps in the series, for example there are no letters for the years 1822 and 1828.
