File of manuscript and typescript letters from Aidan Higgins and Jill Higgins to John McGahern. Letters written from Ireland, Spain, U.K., and Germany.
Includes discussions on writing by both writers, seeking advice on publishing a book of stories with Faber. Letters through the 1960s discuss McGahern's THE DARK, Higgins meeting with Harold Pinter, McGahern's marriage ending, the sending of banned books to Higgins, time spent in Spain. Some later comments include "Dear John, I read AMONGST WOMEN with great pleasure. You are writing about Ireland like no one else". (28 Jan 1991).
