Letters and a short memoir written by Irish emigrants between 1884 to 1931 collected by Gerard Moran, a collaborator of Kerby A. Miller from the Social Science Research Centre at the University of Galway. Included are: the Martin Dooher letter, Fairfield, 1884; the William Gormley letter, Moy, County Tyrone, 1911; the "Cousin Dan" letter, County Kerry, 1931; the Thomas FitzGerald letter, Puckane, 1902; and a memoir by an unknown author (Virginia, Missouri, Nebraska), 1894. The series consists of: a written transcription of the Dooher letter and a photocopy of the original; photocopies of the original FitzGerald letter, Gormley letter, and the "Cousin Dan" letter; a photocopy of the unknown memoir from 1894; and Miller's research notes.
