Draft of a letter by written by Father Hayes to Seán MacEntee, Minister for Local Government and Public Health, regarding statements made by MacEntee in the Dáil 're: county manager confining themselves to their own job & not working in certain organisations'. Father Hayes states that 'My "friend" of course saw this as a prohibition to any county manager taking part in Muintir na Tíre. I do not believe for a moment that you meant this for I know your more than friendly attitude towards us but there are people who would use it against us.' Father Hayes then touts the work of Muintir na Tíre and its willingness to work with the government.
