Scope and content
Letter sent to James Ryan, Minister for Agriculture on behalf of Pat Kennedy, Thurles. The letter was sent from Loughmore, County Tipperary, and forged in Father Hayes' name. The letter states that Kennedy's brother Tom had to borrow £100 to prevent bailiffs from Clonmel from taking Pat's cows, and asks if it is possibly to get some of the money back. The letter was forwarded by the Department of Agriculture on behalf of Dr. Ryan to Father Hayes (see P134/12/1/1/4/197). The original envelope is attached.
