Scope and content

Letter from William Donelan to Thomas O’Conor Donelan, Sylane, Tuam, stating that he had never heard of Thompson’s name before and was surprised that the bill was sent to Sylane. He called on Thompson, a bookmaker in Marlborough St., and found that it had been sent by mistake. The debt was owed by a Charles Donelan, who had trained as an apothecary in Earl St. He says that there are twelve apprentices waiting to be examined and that he will go in the first chance he gets. He says that Dr. Adams won’t let him go to Tuam, and that he has no money for clothes and also complains of the house he is in “… and send me some money for God’s sake”.
